This grant serves as the main foundation for STIKI Malang to realize the Development of Metaverse-Based Visual Communication Design (DKV) Curriculum, thus creating an innovation space called STIKIVERSE, a learning space resulting from the development of the DKV curriculum from this grant program.
Rahmat Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd, a member of the PKKM GRANT Team responsible for the visual assets of STIKIVERSE, explained that STIKIVERSE is not just a virtual platform for innovative works by STIKI Malang students, but also an expression of STIKI’s awareness of the evolution of the technology and digital world. STIKIVERSE also functions as an IT solution provider for educational and community needs while creating a digital ecosystem between STIKI Malang and the public.
Usage of KAT VR STIKIVERSE for Metaverse-Based DKV Curriculum Development
Through the realization of STIKIVERSE thanks to the PKKM 2023 GRANT, STIKI Malang expands its scope of activities including partnership development, benchmarking in the Metaverse world, enhancing lecturers’ competencies in the field, and learning innovations. All of these activities serve as intellectual and practical foundations in building a virtual ecosystem or Metaverse.
Moreover, this program also certifies lecturers as visual artists and game developers to enrich their competencies in creating content that supports learning in the Metaverse. This step aims to strengthen teaching materials and enrich student learning experiences.
