Malang City – In the current era of globalization and technological developments, having international insight has become an inseparable and important part, especially in the world of education. In higher education, international activity programs are designed so that academics can understand various cultures, policies and international dynamics in an effort to improve the quality of research, teaching and community service. Cross-border collaboration, promoting innovation, and producing more comprehensive solutions to global problems, broadening the horizons of knowledge and sharing experiences across countries. Academic exchange programs, international conferences and global partnerships, academics make significant contributions to sustainable and inclusive development everywhere, especially having an impact on the surrounding environment.
To date, STIKI Malang has had dozens of international collaborations under the Global Partnership unit. Various programs continue to be implemented as an effort to strengthen international insight for the entire community, as well as to establish intensive communication with partners globally. International activity programs that have been successfully implemented to date include student and lecturer exchanges, credit transfers, internship programs, double degrees, international conferences & exhibitions, international competitions, and other programs that have an impact on STIKI and LN partners. Apart from that, the international classes held at STIKI have provided a different learning experience because of the involvement of foreign students and lecturers in the teaching and learning process.
On June 13 2024, STIKI Malang added another new collaboration with Colegio de San Juan de Letrán, which is located in Manila, Philippines. Even though the implementation of the MoU is carried out online, it does not reduce the meaning and objectives of the collaboration that will be carried out together. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that there will be joint activities to support the exchange of knowledge, culture, and collaboration in the academic and research fields. This additional collaboration complements the collaboration that STIKI already has with several other campuses in the Philippines, which has been running well and intensively, both in sending STIKI students to the Philippines and accepting Filipino students to study at STIKI.
By continuously strengthening international insight, it encourages the academic community at STIKI Malang to continue to be actively involved in various international collaboration programs and cross-cultural knowledge exchange. The international perspective that has been implemented not only enriches the learning experience of students, but also encourages innovation in teaching and research methods. Through international collaboration, STIKI has a better understanding of various education systems, cultures and best practices from around the world, so that lecturers can adopt and improve strategies to improve learning outcomes.
