Malang City, Indonesia – On August 24, 2023, the Indonesian School of Informatics & Computer Science (STIKI) Malang conducted a ceremonial farewell for Seven Students who received Government Assistance under the International Credit Transfer category to study abroad. This program is part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) to the Philippines and India.

The International Credit Transfer is a program by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud). Its main objective is to provide students with the opportunity to develop their technical and soft skills through studying at foreign universities, as well as to enhance their understanding of socio-cultural aspects and prepare them to face the increasingly complex global competition.

According to Arif Tirtana, S.Kom., M.Kom, Head of Global Partnership and Public Communication Unit, “I hope this program runs smoothly for the best interests of the students in line with the institution’s vision and mission. This program will last for one full semester, providing students with plenty of time to explore and learn in a new learning environment.”

In this program, STIKI Malang sent 2 of its students to Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, India, and 5 students to Tarlac Agricultural University, the Philippines.

The names of STIKI Malang students participating in the International Credit Transfer 2023 include:

Outbound students to Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, India: Muhammad Akbar Ababil, Fauzan Ramelan, while to Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), the Philippines: Gerani Eka Nurizah, Fadila Zeti Dewinta, Vania Faustina Gunawan, Nisayajna Zailila Hariyanto, and Hashfi Andira Putra.

Arif added, “STIKI Malang students participating in this program have a golden opportunity to learn across disciplines and cultures, interact with local communities, and experience life different from their usual routine in Indonesia. It is hoped that they will bring back broader knowledge, global perspectives, and the spirit to innovate and compete internationally.”

STIKI Malang’s Foreign Partner Universities (PTLN) in the program sending their students to STIKI Malang totaled 4 students, namely from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), the Philippines, and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), the Philippines.

Through the International Credit Transfer program, STIKI Malang demonstrates its commitment to providing the best learning experiences for its students and fostering close cooperation with foreign universities. It also aims to inspire students to overcome cultural and language barriers and encourages them to proactively acquire knowledge in the dynamic global era.
